I'll get to that connection after the jump but first consider this: Have you wondered why the Republicans in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and elsewhere are so keen on demonizing your children's grade school teachers?
When the Scott Walker attack on teachers began earlier this year, it had all the hallmarks of a lackey following his master's wishes: a sudden attack, a refusal to negotiate (the master wouldn't want that), a ruthless breaking of rules to ram the attack through.
But which master was pulling Scottie's strings?
It took a scandal involving the hacking of Milly Dowler's phone to bring the truth to light.
The hacking of Milly's phone by Murdoch employees has shown a light onto every section of his empire. It wasn't long before the spotlight fell on Murdoch's educational ventures. Murdoch, it seems, has big plans for raiding public education. This what he had to say in a statement:
“When it comes to K through 12 education, we see a $500 billion sector in the U.S. alone that is waiting desperately to be transformed by big breakthroughs that extend the reach of great teaching."
(I can envision the salivation at News Corp over the prospect of $500 Billion.)
Rupert Murdoch doubled down last year betting big that his GOP underlings like Scott Walker and the Fitzgerald brothers would decimate public education and allow his News Corp tentacles in for that fat tax money being spent on educating our children .
Rupert Murdoch wants to teach your children and Scott Walker and the Wisconsin GOP is willing to fire your teachers to make that happen.
